Fruitful final days in Athens

On 8 October 2026, the POWER Final Conference was organised in WHEN Hub in Athens, followed by the final POWER partners’ meeting the next day.

The six members of the POWER consortium were all represented at the conference, along with local organisations interested in the fair portrayal of women athletes in the media.

Former professional volleyball player, Athina Papafotiou, gender equality expert Pedro Dias and triathlete Maria Trakada gave insightful keynote speeches, which sparkled some highly interesting discussions.

The following day, the POWER consortium members met for a final in-person partners’ meeting to discuss the last remaining tasks, including reporting obligations and legacy-building.

Even though the two-year collaborative partnership comes to an end at the end of October 2026, the partners are committed to continue advocating for an unbiased and performance-based portrayal of women athletes.
